CLEVELAND, OH—Medical device and technology company Lazurite® has named Neil Lyons as its chief financial officer. Lyons started his career with Deloitte and practiced as a CPA with them for over 10 years. He served as the CFO for three life science companies, two public and one private, between 2005 and 2021. Since 2021 he has continued to serve life science companies on a fractional basis.
“Neil is a seasoned finance executive and CPA focused on increasing shareholder value through strategic transactions and organic growth,” said Lazurite President Leah Brownlee. “He has expertise in life sciences, IT and telecommunications and experience in corporate environments ranging from start-up, less than a dozen employees, to mid-sized and large corporations. We are pleased to have him on our team. As appropriate for a company of Lazurite’s size, he is serving us on a fractional basis.”
Lyons has been a serial life science CFO since 2005 going on now four companies: RegneRx Biopharmaceuticals (OTC: RGRX), Cleveland BioLabs (NASDAQ: CBLI), American Gene Technologies (private) and AMPEL BioSolutions (private). He has helped them raise over $160 million in equity and debt financing in public and private transactions and win $19 million in federal contracts. For these companies, he oversees all finance and administrative matters, including alignment of financing to the overall corporate strategy, financial forecast development used for both fiscal management and investor solicitation, financial reporting and audits (including initial audits), employee and executive incentives (including equity incentive plans), lead interface with all professionals including legal, accounting, investor relations, and valuation.
